TITLE: REPORTS TO: RELATES COLLABORATIVELY WITH: HOURS: OBJECTIVE:
Youth Ministry Director Senior Pastor All church staff, church boards Full Time To provide leadership to the Youth Ministry (grades 7 – 12) by discipling and equipping students to love and follow the Lord Jesus Christ
QUALIFICATIONS: • • • • • • • • • • •

Have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior Have an unreserved commitment to the mission, vision and values of Roseau Evangelical Covenant Church (RECC) and agreement with the Evangelical Covenant Church Affirmations Bachelors Degree strongly preferred (equivalent experience will be considered) Possess a deep love for students and a passion for them to be nurtured in the Christian faith Possess understanding of life stages of high school students and ability to connect with them Very comfortable being with and leading groups of students Strong communication skills with both students and parents Has demonstrated a history of strong leadership skills and the ability to complete tasks at an excellent level A team player with a humble and teachable spirit Possess skills in the area of creating teams, training leaders and volunteers Background in producing experiences that provide creative and relevant programming, curriculum and events for students Able to use technology and social media to keep students connected and engaged
RESPONSIBILITIES: • • • •

Pursue God personally and lead out of dynamic relationship with God Pray for ministry, staff and attenders of RECC Help cast vision for RECC mission, vision and values Develop, lead and manage all weekly programming for students (grades 7 – 12) o Provide both short term and long term strategic planning for Youth Ministry ensuring alignment with Biblical values and overall church goals o Research, choose and provide curriculum for Youth Ministry o Recruit, train, empower and support volunteers Develop, lead and manage all special events for Youth Ministry Manage all resources for Youth Ministry (e.g., materials, set up, tear down, clean up, etc.) Manage all communication for Youth Ministry – coordinating with existing communication mediums Keep current with youth culture and how to connect with students Coordinate transition from Children’s Ministry into Youth Ministry Develop and manage Youth Ministry budget within process defined by Trustee Board Attend Sunday morning worship services and represent Youth Ministry as appropriate Provide programming for Release Time during school year for grades 4 – 6 (one hour weekly) Promote attendance at and coordinate registrations for Bluewater Covenant Bible Camp (summer) Pursue high standards of integrity and communication in all relationships associated with position Assist with preaching as requested Serve on staff team Attend meetings and provide reports as assigned Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
